Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented General Manager to lead our operations and drive sustainable growth. This is a key leadership role, overseeing a plant with approximately 50-100 employees and ensuring operational excellence, safety, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all plant operations, addressing production line stops, safety violations, and chronic defects.
- Monitor and manage budgets, control costs, and review forecasts, capital expenditures, and headcount.
- Drive business growth by strengthening the plant's competitive position, reviewing quotes, and engaging with customers.
- Develop and implement business plans to achieve established goals and objectives.
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures to protect company assets and ensure compliance.
- Serve as a liaison with customers and suppliers to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
- Participate in internal quality audits to evaluate and improve quality and environmental systems.
- Foster a safe and secure work environment while promoting Lean Manufacturing techniques.
- Lead initiatives focused on quality, cost reduction, on-time delivery, safety, employee relations, and overall plant performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required (Degree in Engineering - asset)
- 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing or operations
- Demonstrated leadership of projects and teams of considerable size and complexity
- Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastics or materials compounding.
- Strong expertise in operational management, budget planning, and cost control.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices and ISO-certified quality systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and employees.
- Demonstrated ability to create strategic plans and drive organizational success.
