Position OverviewReporting to the COO, the Store Manager is the ultimate brand ambassador for DIFF Eyewear and the driving force behind the success of a new retail store opening. Product-obsessed and customer-focused, this leader is responsible for building, developing, and inspiring a high-performing team while creating a highly productive and engaging store environment.
As an entrepreneurial leader, the Store Manager drives sales, profitability, operational excellence, and community presence. This role will play a critical part in pre-opening preparation, hiring and training the team, and establishing a strong foundation for long-term success.
What You Will Do in This RoleOperations- Lead all new store opening efforts including hiring, onboarding, training, merchandising, and operational setup.
- Maintain efficient store operations by adhering to company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Demonstrate the ability to multitask, delegate, and prioritize work to achieve desired outcomes while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ensure store technology systems and processes are properly implemented and utilized.
Inventory Management- Protect company assets by strictly adhering to all loss prevention procedures.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels aligned with projected traffic patterns and sales goals.
- Oversee daily inventory processes including placing, receiving, and confirming store orders.
- Partner with Retail Operations and Finance to manage inventory counts and audits.
Visual Merchandising- Ensure visual merchandising standards are executed and maintained at all times.
- Collaborate with the Visual Merchandising team on directives, store standards, and product launches.
- Partner with Retail Operations regarding assortment needs, local trends, and store requests to support financial goals.
- Lead daily store maintenance including restocking, visual updates, and cleanliness.
Sales & Profitability- Drive financial performance by achieving and exceeding sales targets through a strategic and agile approach.
- Develop initiatives that attract new customers and build repeat business.
- Analyze weekly KPIs and quarterly P&L statements to make informed business decisions.
- Apply an entrepreneurial mindset to identify opportunities that improve store performance and efficiency.
- Motivate the sales team in a team-based selling environment to consistently achieve goals.
Customer Experience- Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service aligned with DIFF’s brand values and mission.
- Create and maintain a productive, energetic sales floor through consistent coaching and development.
- Drive strong online reputation management including Yelp and Google ratings.
- Foster a culture that prioritizes relationship-building, service excellence, and customer loyalty.
Leadership & Talent Development- Partner with the District Manager on stretch assignments including training, development, strategy, and community outreach initiatives.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, scheduling, employee documentation, and performance management.
- Translate company vision, core values, and strategy into actionable goals for the team.
- Consistently recruit, hire, and develop top talent aligned with brand and customer experience standards.
- Lead with ownership, accountability, and initiative to support fast-paced growth.
Community Outreach & Events- Build strong relationships with local brands and organizations to increase brand awareness in the community.
- Partner with Marketing to execute in-store and in-market campaigns and initiatives.
- Work closely with the Assistant Store Manager to establish a strong precedent for local outreach.
- Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate monthly events that drive traffic, engagement, and sales.
- Manage event logistics including scheduling, timelines, budgeting, marketing, and forecasting.
- Travel and occasional evening or weekend work may be required for events.
Is This You?- 3+ years of experience as a Store Manager or equivalent leadership role in retail.
- Passionate about people development and comfortable providing and receiving feedback.
- Experienced and confident user of retail systems and core technologies.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to build and grow a new business from the ground up.
Requirements of the Role- Open availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnights as required by the business.
- Ability to work 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week, with leadership in punctuality and attendance.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, bending, squatting, climbing ladders, and reaching.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
- Customer service expert who builds relationships and proactively resolves concerns.
- Optician Technician Certification a HUGE plus
