Since 1983, Élan Flowers has been one of New York’s most respected floral design houses, creating retail, wedding, event, and subscription work for a discerning city. We did not found Élan; we became the stewards of it. We are now looking for someone to help us lead its next chapter.

The Opportunity

We are hiring a General Manager to lead the daily operation of the business and the teams that run it: studio, events, client services, and retail. This is a leader of leaders role. You will guide our Studio Manager and team leads, develop the people across each function, and create the consistency and accountability that let the whole operation run well, so our owners can focus more on vision, growth, and client relationships.

A year from now, we will know this was a great hire not because this person solved every problem themselves, but because they built trust, developed leaders, created consistency, and grew both the team and the business.

What You Will Do

✿ Lead the teams. Provide direction and rhythm across the studio, events, client services, and retail, guiding the Studio Manager and team leads, setting clear expectations, and bringing calm and consistency through our peak seasons.

✿ Develop the people. Coach and grow our leaders and emerging leaders, hold accountability with kindness, and build the systems and standards that let good people do their best work.

✿ Grow the business. Strengthen how we serve weddings, events, corporate accounts, subscriptions, and retail, improving execution, deepening client relationships, and helping Élan grow thoughtfully without losing what makes it special.

✿ Elevate the client experience. Protect and raise the standard of hospitality and craft that has defined Élan for forty years.

Who You Are

First and foremost, a leader of people. You have led teams and developed others, you build structure where there is none, and you hold a high bar with warmth. You care deeply about hospitality and the client experience, and you are comfortable owning the daily operation of a busy, multifaceted business.

We will prioritize leadership experience over floral experience. Flowers can be learned. That said, if you come from the floral, event, production, or luxury design world and you are ready to step into broader leadership, we would love to meet you.

This is an onsite role at our TriBeCa studio. Expect to be present and hands on alongside the team during our busiest moments.

Compensation: $85,000 base, plus benefits and a performance incentive that brings total compensation toward $100,000 as the business grows.
