My client is a premier real estate owner/operator with a nationally recognized portfolio of retail and mixed-use assets and is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead operations for its premier enclosed shopping center in the Northeast.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Leadership & Operational Excellence

Lead all aspects of day-to-day operations for a premier enclosed shopping center, ensuring best-in-class standards across the property
Deliver a clean, safe, and compelling environment through strong oversight of maintenance, security, housekeeping, and vendor performance
Drive operational efficiency, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives

Strategic Asset Performance

Take full ownership of the asset’s financial and operational performance, with a focus on maximizing NOI
Develop and execute operating and capital plans, including identifying opportunities for property enhancements and reinvestment
Leverage capital strategically to elevate the asset and enhance long-term value

Tenant & Relationship Leadership

Build and maintain strong relationships with national and regional retailers, acting as a trusted partner to tenants
Proactively engage tenants to support sales performance, retention, and long-term success
Represent the property with professionalism and credibility across tenants, community leaders, and local stakeholders

Team Leadership & Culture

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, cross-functional on-site team
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence
Serve as a leader and role model across the broader portfolio, influencing best practices and performance standards

Leasing & Cross-Functional Partnership

Partner closely with leasing and business development teams to support merchandising strategy and deal execution
Provide on-the-ground insights to enhance tenant mix and leasing outcomes
Collaborate with marketing to drive traffic, engagement, and sales growth

Financial Oversight & Controls

Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets, with ongoing forecasting and adjustments
Oversee accounts receivable, collections, and financial reporting
Maintain strong financial discipline across payables, contracts, and payroll

Ideal Candidate Profile

Current or recent General Manager of an enclosed shopping mall, shopping center, or mixed use property strongly preferred
Experience leading a high-peforming asset or group of assets
Proven ability to drive financial performance, tenant satisfaction, and operational excellence
Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence teams, tenants, and stakeholders
Demonstrated success building and developing high-performing teams
Strategic thinker with a hands-on, results-driven approach
Highly collaborative with exceptional relationship-building skills
Passion for retail shopping centers
Active involvement in ICSC or similar industry organizations preferred
