About the Company
We are seeking a General Manager to take full operational ownership of a large-scale, multi-trade home services business serving the Greater Des Moines market. This is not a maintenance role. This is a true operator seat. You will lead a mature, established business with more than $35M in annual revenue and a team of 150+ employees across multiple service lines. The organization is entering its next phase of growth, investing in systems, shared services, and expansion into additional markets. The current executive leadership team is transitioning into broader portfolio responsibilities, creating an opportunity for a proven operator to step in and lead the flagship operation. This role reports directly to executive leadership and carries full responsibility for operational performance, financial outcomes, and leadership development. Relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities
Core Mission
- Full P&L Ownership
- Own complete financial performance for a $35M+ operation
- Drive revenue growth, gross profit, EBITDA, and cash flow performance
- Lead weekly, monthly, and annual financial reviews
- Understand operational and financial levers that influence profitability
- Identify and execute margin improvement initiatives
Operational Leadership
- Lead day-to-day execution across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and field operations
- Ensure smooth delivery, customer experience, and operational consistency
- Drive KPI accountability throughout the organization
- Build scalable systems and operational structure
- Improve performance through process optimization and disciplined execution
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a leadership team overseeing multiple departments
- Establish accountability through regular one-on-ones, reviews, and performance management
- Coach managers into stronger leaders and operators
- Build a culture centered on ownership, accountability, and high standards
- Maintain strong employee retention and succession planning efforts
Strategic Execution
- Partner with ownership and corporate leadership on growth initiatives
- Support market expansion efforts and integration of shared services capabilities
- Execute operational initiatives tied to systems, technology, and scalability
- Help modernize operations while protecting company culture and brand reputation
Qualifications
Required Experience
- Executive leadership experience within home services operations
- Minimum 24 consecutive months leading a $20M+ P&L environment
- Experience leading large teams and multi-layer leadership structures
- Demonstrated success driving operational and financial performance

Pay range and compensation package
- Base Salary: $175,000–$225,000
